My approach

I see therapy as a relationship with two (or more) of us working together towards something great. We each bring something to the table. You’re the expert on you (even if you don’t always feel like it) and I am trained in evidence-based mental health treatment. And together, we work towards making a positive change in your life.

About you

Yep, you. Maybe you’re a parent of a struggling child. Perhaps, you’re a college student needing support. Or, you’re an adult and life has thrown you a curveball. You’re smart, you’re resourceful, you know how to get things done. And yet, there is a problem - a behavior problem, a depression problem, an anxiety problem. You want to address it on your own. You’ve tried! Nothing seems to work. This may be your first try at therapy or maybe it’s your last resort. Regardless, I’m here for you. Let’s tackle this problem together.

About me

My name is Meghan Seradsky. I am a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey. My practice is fully virtual and focuses on the skills children, teens, and young adults need to face mental health challenges and life changes.

I specialize in parent-based therapies to support young children struggling with big feelings and big behaviors, including anxiety, ADHD, depression, and defiant or disruptive behaviors. I like to work with parents to take out the middle man (me) and provide parents with the skills and tools they are looking for to address their child’s needs directly. I also work with teens and young adults to address depression, anxiety, and adjusting to life changes.

A session with me is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. I want you (or your child) to feel confident facing challenges, trying out new things, and making mistakes. So, let me pour you a cup of coffee (or tea), and let’s talk.

Therapies Offered at Yellow Table

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

Also known as PCIT, is an evidence-based therapy that targets disruptive behaviors in children ages 2-7. I coach parents in how to use play therapy skills to improve following directions, communication, emotion regulation, and social skills.

  • Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions

Also known as SPACE, is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety and OCD. I coach parents on the changes they can make at home to reduce anxiety and increase independence.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Also known as CBT, targets unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to improve mood, increase assertiveness, and promote long-term change. CBT is a gold standard I use to address anxiety and depression in adolescents and young adults.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

Is an evidence-based therapy used to address depression, anxiety, stress, and life changes. It focuses on solutions instead of problems. Together, we identify exceptions to the problems that bring you to therapy and develop goals to increase those exceptions.

Ready to book with me? Consider calling your insurance company to get more information about your mental health care benefits. Good questions to ask are:

    • Do I have mental health care benefits in my plan?

    • Do I need preauthorization to receive mental health care benefits?

    • Do I have a deductible? Does that include medical? Have I met it?

    • Do you cover mental health services provided by a licensed clinical social worker?

    • Do you cover mental health services for the following CPT codes: 90791, 90837, 90846, 90847, 90853, 90785?

    • What is my co-insurance / copay?

    • How many sessions does my plan cover per calendar year?

  • Self-pay (or paying out of pocket) is an option for folks who do not have an insurance plan I participate with. My self-pay rates are:

    • Individual/Family Therapy: $145 per session

    • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy: $160 per session

    • Group Therapy: $60 per session

Not sure if your insurance offers out-of-network coverage?

Call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health care benefits in my plan?

    • Do I need preauthorization to receive mental health care benefits?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible? Does that include medical? Have I met it?

    • Do you cover mental health services provided by a licensed clinical social worker?

    • Do you cover mental health services for the following CPT codes: 90791, 90837, 90846, 90847, 90853, 90785?

    • What is my co-insurance / copay for out-of-network care?

    • If I have out-of-network benefits, will I be reimbursed the full amount I paid or a percentage? What percentage?

    • How long does it typically take to process an out-of-network mental health services claim and issue a reimbursement check?

  • How long are therapy sessions?

    Sessions are typically 53-60 minutes.

    Do you offer in-person sessions?

I currently offer virtual/telehealth therapy. It’s important to me that clients get the best possible care and most effective therapy in whatever setting I work. So, I make sure I stay on top of best practices for telehealth and I follow all guidelines to effectively deliver evidence-based therapies online.

    What is a CPT code?

A Current Procedural Terminology code, or CPT code, is a code used to report the type of health care service provided. Insurance companies require a CPT code when determining coverage for a specific service. The CPT codes I most frequently use for therapy services are:

    • 90791: Initial evaluation

    • 90837: Psychotherapy, 60 minutes

    • 90846: Family psychotherapy, without patient present

    • 90847: Family or couples psychotherapy, with patient present

    • 90853: Group therapy

    • 90785: Interactive Complexity (used in combination with 90837 for PCIT sessions)
